I've heard they come up into Canadian Maritime waters to, but not real common.

Down in St Andrews at the Marine Centre they have a place built where a wild seal comes to every summer, access is linked to the sea underneath. I suppose he comes because he knows there are treats. Just a week or two ago I heard a seal had leaped from the sea water along a dock and pulled in a little girl by the arm. The girl had a life jacket and surfaced when the seal let go. Just puncture wounds on her arm, she was fine otherwise.
