I have looked at a lot mills in the last week. I looked at the LT40HHD at WM.

TimberKing is offering some good deals as well.

My question, ran into a Mighty Mite, Gen. III, 1987, Power 4 Ways, Cuts 22 ft., on 2 axle trailer, 22 HP Kohler.

Mill comes with 4 new blades and some used bades, 8 or so. About 50K of cutting on the mill since 1987 (estimate).

Mill was setting out and faded, was cleaned up and is advertised to work 100%. Has basic log holding fixtures and no log turning or loading system.

Told that it would take a 2 inch wide blade, currently, cutting with 1 1/4 wide blades installed.

The mill will go for around 10K and lower I'd say.

It's only money, wanted a mill that do the job.

With those big logs you'ld want more power and a turner for sure, shouldn't be to hard to add both at that price.   Steve

Gday

Ive only seen one Mighty Mite an 08 Mk4B fully hyd 25' cut with 34hp perkins on it that im looking into buying at the moment $35k (cost $60/$65k landed) with 275hrs  on the clock 25  new 1 1/2 bands  sharpener setter its the only MM band in Aust at the moment
Being the only MM Band ive seen i must say they look a Very well built mill if the runs that some of the blokes that have got out of their Circular mills Overehere is anything to go by you should get a great runn out of it Mate  ;)

It would make a great base to add all the things to as you go Hyds ect  ;) ;D 8) 8)

I have a MK4 and it is a very heavily made mill.  The saw head is the same as the Gen III.

I sure do use the log turners, and fence, and sometimes the loader to load logs.  The loader also makes a good place to offload a part of the log that you want to put back on the mill.

I think a new Gen III runs about 20K, so I would think unless the factory is going to refurbish and provide a guarantee the price should be more like 8K.

If you are going to be stationary then it is easier to live without some of the hydraulics.

If the MM mill is located in NE Arkansas, it's being sold by the mother in law of I guy I know.

The M M is located in NY,  It's on Craigslist.

I had the power wrong, 26 HP not 22 HP.

26hp will do pretty good in bigger pine, will be a little slow going in wide hardwood.     Steve
