before you leave for work put sliced deer meat in crock pot with 3 cups water and 3 packs of brown gravy mix. Cook on low or medium on crock pot till you get home from work or 8 hours. When you get home put crock on warm and the boil some water and cook ya some egg noodles up good. Drain noodles and put noodles in crock with meat and gravy. Spoon on plate and eat. You may need to adjust ingredients due to family size. I also add a cube of beef bullion to my noodles as they boil and it tastes great.

Right on the money, Adam.

Good eatin. Soup mix like cream o mushroom and no additional water works good too.  8)

I don't do the noodles, but a backed tater on the side goes well, along with a tossed green salat. :)

That's more or less one of the things we do with canned meat, cutting out the crockpot part obviously. It's tasty and fast, also good for unexpected dinner company.

Well i am not putting to much meat in the freezer. The buck i got had alot of meat be my dog got the back hams and front shoulders out of the cooler. And trust me there was alot of meat. At least he left me the loins.  ;) He knows i am mad at him he just hangs his head down soon as i see him. I have never been so mad at that dog in my life. ugh I would of never thought he would so this but guess its my fault for not putting something over the top. But its not that easy of a lid to get open

Of course, you're always welcome to share some with me.
Haven't had the fortune of bagging one this year, so while doing my hunting afield, I've had to do my "Eatin' Huntin" at the local grocery store.
Not the tastiest stuff in the world, but keeps me going till I can put one in the freezer!

Sorry to hear about the cooler...

One of my friends has a neat use for deer burger.
He buys one of those "home pizza" kits on the pasta isle and uses
deer burger as the topping... Usually, he puts some extra toppings
like mushrooms or extra cheese...  It's really great, lots of meat
but not greasy.  If you get 2 kits, it will fill a whole cookie sheet.

I guess its a good thing i didnt use up all last years deer. I ended up filling around 10 one gallon freezer bags. If he wouldnt got both back hams and both front shoudlers  no telling how much more i had. No worries i know he is happy.
