Thanks for the warm Welcome,

I am from N.E. Indiana, new to milling so thought a chainsaw mill would let me know if this was my bag or not.

  I like it so far,

Planks are White Oak, nearly bucked and split this dude many times, but I had a dream

i made my own chainsaw mill back around christmas, cut one red oak with it and promptly bought a LM2000 :D
all joking aside, your mill set-up looks much like mine, as well as using an aluminum ladder as the slabbing rail.

are you using ripping chain? your finished surface looks mighty fine

Use Woodland Pro 63 RP
$22  for 110 link, ripped 3 @ 19 ft long was still cuttin' good
Do believe will do better on the next one. My entry was not so hot without the ladder for a good lead-in.
I would love to build a bandmill someday, but this rig should keep me out of trouble for a while.

My big dream is to clear a bit of my woods for a pond and build a small timber framed cottage.

Use the 153 for milling, The 152 is a parts saw( it will be a runner soon) The 143 is a great felling saw with the 20" bar.
The 120 is the only saw I would need if I could have just one.

I also have a modded  Husqvarna 359 and Dolmar PS-5100S,(main firewood saws) and my little plastic Homie.
