Mill was built before MS was a State.

That segment is over.  Anyone  see it?   Like a living history museum.  A lot of MS is like that. 8)

I missed most of it but really like the honor bar.  When I went to Alaska years ago we went to a sawmill/lumberyard that was the same, you took what you came for and left the money in the office, nobody was around.

I've got it set to record later tonight. Watching dancing with the stars right now. ;D

I watched it.  Mike Rowe is some of the best TV around.  His show, Dirty Jobs, has enlightened and educated a lot of folks.

It amazes me, the power of the turbine in a mill.  The first one I ever saw was in that sawmill that Jeff took me to see, North of him, by the Big Mac.   That one was driving an up/down saw blade and log carriage.  This one is driving stones that must weigh tons.

My idea of a water wheel before that was an "overshot", though I'd heard of "undershot" mills.

There is a lot of history in this country built around mills of all sorts, and the rivers and mill-ponds that drove them.

Jeff

I got a chance to watch my recording before heading up here to the cabin. Anybody notice the circle saw milll there? I was hoping they would run it too. I'll bet it was powered by that same turbine.

45 minutes.

Someday I will go take a bunch of pictures and give FF folks a tour.  And they make grits too! 8)
