I am in need of a new boiler eventually in the near future...

I am wondering if I can get some input/experience of people with an indoor wood boiler with oil backup?

Are they considerably more expensive from the get go?

Any problems you've experienced?

What brand are you using?

My house is a 1500sq ft Cape Cod, baseboard heat

I can't remember the guys name from Indiana that C4 fun and I traveled 400 miles round trip to a GTG with 14-15 saws in the back of my Ranger pick up with a bad tranny and made it back in one piece .At any rate he built a multi fueled boiler ,both wood and I think oil but it could have been propane .

From what he said it worked out great . Kevin might know his name but as far as I know he's not on this forum .

I had an HS Tarm wood/oil boiler. No problems in the ten years I owned the house.

I installed a lot of Tarms 25 to 30 years ago.    They are great boilers . I think they have gasification boilers now. You can also get an add on wood fired boiler and install it next to your existing boiler ,but, be aware of chimney requirements and if a wood fired boiler is legal to install inside the house. They are not legal in Ma.  Holmes
