I would like to build a conveyor to load split wood into my trailer. If it would work, Id like to splice into my log splitter hydraulic lines to run a hydraulic motor to power the conveyoy. Any thoughts on how to do it? Willit work?

SPIKER

normally splitters are 2 stage pumps one stage is high volume low pressure the conveyor may move quickly until loaded then it will slow way down.   the higher pressure (generally 3~400 psi high volume stage 1)

Log splitter will probably work, but you gonna have a 2 speed conveyer. A log splitter pump is actually 2 pumps running in parallel. One of them has a pressure sensitive bypass valve that bypasses 1 pump when the pressure builds up to a certain level. On some pumps that bypass valve is adjustable. You might be able to play around with that. I put a log splitter pump on a home made hydraulic system on a woodmizer mill. I had to disable the high volume side to keep from stalling the 3 hp motor, otherwise it still is working just fine.
