For those of us that enjoy the American Loggers show on the Discovery channel, the show will return on March 4th. at 10:00PM. I am guessing this is the start of the new series but the Discovery site doesn't say.

One of the few times I miss satellite is for these shows. Oh well that's past my bedtime too, maybe they should rerun them at 5am.

Great show that I've watched each year! I often wish the "good" shows were on at 8 instead of 10, myself.

Rocky Ranger, yep, those are the guys from Maine.I saw the TV crew up at Skowhegan Fair at the trucks pulls last year.I don't think there are 2 different mills.Probaly almost 2 hours from me.I've been reading about it some.I never would of thought paper mills in Maine would be in danger of closing.Bigger, better faster, newer machines in other plants are not helping any,That's progress.Madison is being sold too.

MILLS-BUYER

Prospective buyer looks at 2 Maine paper mills

MILLINOCKET, Maine (AP) — Officials with a San Francisco-based investment company are meeting with state and local government officials regarding their agreement to purchase two northern Maine paper mills.

Meriturn Partners LLC representatives are meeting with officials today on the proposed acquisition of Katahdin Paper Co. mills in Millinocket and East Millinocket from Brookfield Assets Management investment group in Toronto.

Financial terms have not been disclosed.

Meriturn partner Lee Hansen says his company has signed a letter of intent to buy the mills if it can negotiate new labor contracts, receive property tax breaks and install a biomass boiler in the Millinocket mill to make it more energy-efficient.

Yesterday, Hansen and other officials toured the Millinocket mill, which has been idle since 2008, and met with workers at the East Millinocket mill

Yes there is a mill in each town that are about 7-8 miles from each other.  The Millinocket mill has been shot down for a while while the one in East Millinocket is still operating.  The towns - especially Millinocket - took a HUGE hit.  Small town with the mill being the only game in town and then it's gone.  Lots of other businesses went belly up because of that.  The Pelletiers are real nice people I have met a couple of the brothers.  Finally something going well at least for a few people in that area.
It's the going that counts not the distance!

It was good of them to rehire that kid for a second chance.
He must have some potential.
The bad part was bad mouthing him every chance they had after.
The kid seems to have a deep hole to dig out of to gain respect.
Seems like most other employees like their work there.
