slab wood in to chips

this thread and bobby goodsons swamp loggers show has me thinking...

why not load those logs back up and take them back to the woods and build up the road in and out of the woods with those unwanted slabs? you or someone else is going back to the woods anyway and it might help you be able to get some logs out when it is real wet. pc

I have used thick slabs to get me over mudholes. It works great :D.

On the other hand ... I once gave some slabs to a couple of guys who dropped by the mill. They wanted a dozen or so and were happy to pull them straight off the mill and load them up. They didn't tell me what they were planning to do with them. When I drove home that afternoon I saw their machine, stuck in the mud, with my way-two-thin slabs sticking up beside their loader. They'd broken under the wheels and were also pointing up into the undercarriage. What a mess :(.
