Yellow Poplar for fence boards

I just was given a nice load of tulip poplar logs . I got a guy that is looking for 1"x6"x8' fence boards. Would Poplar be okay to use for this?

I assume that it would be vertical fencing.  I've never thought about such, but Poplar works well for siding on a building.  Rot wise, it should be OK as long as it doesn't have ground contact.   Bowing, twisting, or warping could be an issue, so my thoughts would be to either sticker or kiln dry it.  I would do it.

All heart wood will last much longer than sap boards.

It would probably look better longer than the pressure treated stuff for sale now adays.  But a cedar fence will last and look better for longer than PT or poplar.

If you can make good $$ and do not have a better market for your nice poplar, then go for it.

This would be for pasture fence. So it would be horizontal with no ground contact. Sorry I should have described the intended use.
