Need some sugestions when we first got the mill the band snapped and came right threw the cover at the drive pulley we siliconed it up and added square pieces of rubber mat on the inside where the blade cut . Yeterday another broke the rubber did its job but almost cut all the way to the outside any other options or stay with the rubber and replacing it.
Just a note only are second band break after 20 or so blades.

Scott, I do not have exp. to address your question, but would like to ask if you think there is some design problem here that it damaged the cover?  Is the cover metal or plastic?  I just started a thread called "MX34?" trying to find owners to tell me what they can about this mill in reference to my considering which mill to purchase.  Your input there would be appreciated.
Anything someone can design, I can sure figure out how to fix!
If I say it\\\\\\\'s going to take so long, multiply that by at least 3!

hello Scott

Please call our customer service dept. toll-free tomorrow at 1-800-567-0404. Getting you fixed up shouldn't be a problem. FYI - I also sent you a more detailed private message.

Hope everyone has a nice Memorial weekend.

Have a great day

A broken band has the potential to poke out violently anywhere there is an opening and that's on any brand sawmill. The natural direction is the sawdust chute. Trying to prevent bands from breaking in the first place will help the problem but can never eliminate it as there are too many variables that could potentially result in a broken band. Bands are not supposed to break, but they do.

Try not to run the bands until they are dull enough to stress them and break that way. I would say that is the biggest reason 2 in twenty would break for a new sawmiller.
I can change my profile okay. No errors. If you can,t remove all the extra info in other fields and try.

Is the cover metal or plastic?
-----------------
Norwood told me the cover was a type of plastic, they didn't like calling it plastic.
I forget the word they used to discribed it. It't not metal.
