What I am looking for is what blade is the best to get for brush cutting, size and tooth patern.  I have a straight shaft tanaka that has the blade adaptor or thingamagig to put said blade on.
I will be mostly cutting alder sproutings that are no bigger then three inches with the bulk of them in the 1 1/2 inches range.

Bro
I'm using this on a Stihl FS120

This blade will cut a bit over 2" deep, so with some roundabout beaver action, a 4" stem can be cut.

I use the same blade listed on my Stihl FS130 and have no problem cutting in the 3 inch range. It takes a couple of "strikes" to get through the 3 inch though. 1 1/2 inch slices like a hot knife through butter with it.

Yeah, the 200 mm chisel tooth with the larger centre cutout (25 mm). The larger saws take the 225 mm and 20 mm (3/4") centre. Make sure to use a blade guard on the saw. ;)
