This is a dual arch skidder, when I take the inspection plate off of the top boom there is the pump then there is what I would call the orbit motor, which makes the grapple turn left or right. Had the operator look at it and he said that it is leaking on the orbit motor. He called the dealer and they told him that there is a seal kit inside of there. Is this something that I should tackle in the woods and fix myself or should I take it to the dealer to fix? From what it looks like the grapple itself connects to the orbit motor. Going by the dealer tomorrow to see what they say, just thought I would get yalls opinions.

Seen guys do that kinda work in the woods if you have the proper tools/equipment and some knowledge about it.. But if you don't its better to let the guys that know what their doin get it done

There is a grapple rotate motor and a rotary manifold , Standing at the back of the tractor the rotorary manifold is the first one you come to, this allows you to provide oil to the grapple cyls. while still being able to rotate 360 deg.  The rotary manifold is easy to reseal.
Unhook the two big lines and one small and hold bracket on right hand side and remove outside piece of manifilod, this is where the seals are.  If it is leaking from the rotate motor I would advise having a hyd shop install that seal kit, and often I find internal wear on the rotate motor and a new seal kit will not fix the problem if that is the case.
