Gday

Just thinking as I had this discussion with the blokes at Meadows Mills the other week when I was the as I am thinking along thee lines of ditching rebuilding the old 36x4" and having and edger man to just fitting the old girl up with a new vertical edger down the track we all came to the same counclusion Why Not as it should work without any major dramas  ;)

Have any of you boys seen a manual mill running one in your travels over the years and what did/do you think  ???

Where are you going to stand to feed the mill?  There is no way you can safely stand behind the vertical edger.  You saw what the back of my mill looked like.

If you put the vertical edger behind the sawyer,  then you have longer track.  And I wouldn't want to turn logs or set dogs anywhere close to a running edger.

Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large groups.
