When I was over to Drummond Island this weekend, I spotted several of these small trees/shrubs(?) growing in a wood edge behind my niece's rental cabin.  The Berry is almost all one big seed. Very little pulp. I did not observe birds eating them, but they did look as if they had been.

I can change my profile okay. No errors. If you can,t remove all the extra info in other fields and try.

However, I held back another dogwood species that I think you'll find interesting because of the name of the island. ;)

The berries are white and it's a Lake Erie shrub. ;)
