Just picked up a 029 farm boss at auction today, mid 80,s model for $95.00 It turns over and had good comp. missing air cover, and looks like its had a hard life. Its a white handled pro model,so I told myself not over $100. well I got it and thats as far as I got and came home with it. will get a picture of it and let you all know weather I did good or not so good! ;D Tim

let me know if you need parts. I have a complete one with low compression. powerhead mostly disassembled. I was keeping it for parts but my runner left with the crackheads. You can have it but you ship it.

Buck, back cover over filter, and who knows what else, great to hear I have a donor saw on the forum. right now, everything seems to be in place and no I did not get a chance to try and start it,I walked by the aisle that they where selling and I saw it and stop dead in my tracks and had to rely on me instincts, grabbed it and pulled it the starter cord to see if it wasnt seized and pithed on the guy that got it up to $75 it was on its second call and I bid it up,I actually waked away and thought the other guy got it and the auctioneer said, dont you want the saw? $95 ;) I like these little saws,we have a 5 year newer one that rides in the tool box of the log trk to cut off long ends,I liked it so much that I said what the hey,it can ride in my personal trk ;D Like I said,I will take a picture of it and you can all see if I am did good or got suckered on an impulse. (did I mention that I love Stihl saws ;)) Tim

OK Guys, Got some pictures of the boss

Got to actually look it over as you can see,its missing the air filter cover, had bad gas in it,bar is fried on the bottom! took it over to the air hose and started to blow it off and noticed when I got to the carb,it smelled of gas,so I kept blowing air and noticed the fuel line was cracked and siphoning gas out of the tank as I blew air across the hose.It has good compression and spark,so all I have to get is a fuel line and cover.Tim

I gave away a 029 super needing a piston.   I  cant :-X :-X :-X :-X :-X :-X :-X :-X  13lb PHO 56cc saw.

2 post the same  :D no delete function  ???

Saw Dr.

What you have there is an 024, not an 029.  Way different animal.
I don't try to explain to others why I play with chainsaws.  For those who already know, no explanation is needed.  For those who do not, no explanation is POSSIBLE!

Super 250

Saw Dr. Your right! I had better keep my glasses on when working on these things,My only defense,it was sitting next to a 029 while I was working on it :D. Tim

Where the heck did pics come from, I didnt see those posted before.  ??? hmmm dang puter messing with me or it's this site. Half the time here lately I get error message and cant see nothing.

8)  Now that is a saw worth rebuilding. 024 super = 026  plain 024 nice too. They pull $100 to $150 on the used market in good running condition.

Cut4fun, Not you or your computer,I posted the pic,s over the weekend. My bad its a 024 wood boss,I couldnt help myself at the auction.I use these little guys quite a bit. stopped in the dealer on the way back this morning and got a fuel line and cover for it and will get around to it this week and see if she fires up. Got the saw apart today and found a cracked impulse hose when I tore it apart to install the cracked fuel line, back to the dealer >:(  got one and put both back on and cleaned the carb while it was apart. Fired right up,put it back together and put a new chain on. Tim
