starter fixed

well the starter on the old skidder has been giving me fits for a while now. Sometimes it would start on the key other times just click. give it a good tunk with a wrench and it would start. Well this morning it didn't want to engage very well. I got ticked off and took it off, hauled it to Bangor ( 75 miles away), got there at 12:00 left at 2:00. All rebuilt and 140.00 bucks later it's back on and doing just fine.
I called Ebberson electric in Brewer at 10:00 girl said bring it in today. What great service they have.

The starter on the Deutz in my Tree Farmer started acting up.  Sometimes it would whirl the engine it right over others times it wouldn't.  Took to a shop in Gaylord where I usually go for these kind of repairs and he would have had it done while I waited but had to order the metric gear gear for it.  $100.00 ready to go the next day with new bushings etc in it  8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8)   Fast forward about three weeks and I'm running the machine and smell something burning  ???   The starter key switch didn't release to shut off the starter and I couldn't hear it still running over the engine.  I'm glad the belly pan was clean or it could have been very bad.  The only parts salvageable were the case and nose cone.  It was hot enough that it melted the windings  :-[  $200.00 dollar repair that time.  That included a new push button switch
