My Super 70 has a three lobed, rigid brake shoe that rides in the drive belt wheel, instead of the brake strap I had in my LT40 and I have no experience with this system.

I have noticed it beginning to chatter or squeak when I disengage the autoclutch and the brake engages.

I've tried adjusting it as per the manual, but still have the chatter and squeak upon blade disengage and braking.  Is this normal or something I can adjust out?

Take steps to save steps.

If it won't roll, its not a log; it's still a tree.  Sawmills cut logs, not trees.

Kiln drying wood: When the cookies are burned, they're burned, and you can't fix them.

Sawing is fun for the first couple million boards.

Maybe this is where the missing chipmunks have gone. 😎

Sounds like chicken or chipmunk grease may be the answer.

Yellowhammer   The LT15 has a similar brake rubber lobes that fit down into the drive band wheel.  It will make noise when it first grabs, no big deal and no excessive wear that I can tell could spray a little belt conditioner on them or silicone spray if it bugs you.

My 2003 LT 70 is no super but has the same brake on it. In almost 12,000 hours, Ive had to replace the "shoes" twice and am about to do it again.  Mine makes noise some times and then it goes away for a year or so, then starts squawking again. The brake on an LT40 is a superior design IMO but the clutch design on the 70 means we have this setup..
