Blade dives and stalls saw motor.  Can't restart to go forward and won't back out.

A few plastic wedges, a piece of  broken blade to clean the kerf, and 20 minutes work and you're back in business.
Been there, done that.   Never got caught [/b]
Retired and not doing much anymore and still not getting caught

POSTON WIDEHEAD

Ever since I got my mill, every now and again this has happened.
My Dad told me....just take it in stride, it's just one of those things.

So when it happens now, I don't flinch. Just fix it and get back to sawing.  :)

Thanks for the picture Doc. I love pics. And from what I can see, looks like a cozy place to mill.
The older I get I wish my body could Re-Gen.

You must have hit metal to make it dive.  I also use your withdrawal recipe; plastic wedges, a section of old sawblade, and time.

I just had that happen the other day, cutting 2x6s out of a 6x26 slab about half way down in the heartwood the blade did a nose dive, stalled the motor, burned out the capacitors, before I could get it shut off.About 2 1/2 hours to change to my new motor,I figured if was a hard spot that caused the blade to dive, changed to a new blade the new motor is a 3450 rpm went into the same cut with no problems,it sure sings now. Wow, that was quite a dive Doc.

I've (knock-on-wood) only had that happen in a large log/cant once!
