Morning all: I ordered a box of blades the other day. told the lady I wanted 10deg., She ask me what I was cutting mostly green? When I told her yes,She said I would be better off with the 8deg.
I was thing the 10 deg was a more less cut all type blade,Although I know there is not a one blade for it all,But The 10deg is the most common. Was she right or just trying to get rid of some over stock blades? ,& she knew I didn't know jack ;D,So she would get rid of them.
How much diff- is the cutting between the 8-& 10 deg-? Mark........

Bama, you'll probibly like the 8's better, or won't be able to tell the differance. If the slim chance you don't like them next sharpening they can go back to 10.Frank C.

I think that has a lot to do with your hp and the hardness of your logs. I need to pay more attention to my sharpener. I just eyeball it and try to get it close to what a new band looks like, thay seem to cut fine.

Didn't know Wood-Mizer was making an 8° blade? We've converted to 7° and realty like them for oak.

We've use a lot of 9° DoubleHard blades and liked them until the 7° came out.

Janet knows what she's talking about. Wood-Mizer makes up the blades right there in a factory behind the headquarters in Indy. I'm sure they can control their production to a point were overstock is not a motive to get you to select one blade over the other.
