I got my belts to replace on my bandwheel today. Not done this before but I guess you just back off the big 1 1/2 nut and remove wheel? Do you need to have anything to hold the wheel or back to take off nut?

xlogger,

If you are talking about replacing the v-belt on the wheel itself, you don't need to remove the wheel.  In my case it helped to have something firm to pull against as it can be somewhat of a job until you have done it the first time.  First one took 30 minutes, the second was was much quicker.  There are several threads on here with hints from others who have done it.

I took the wheel off and put it in the vise like they showed on the video @ TK. It took more than 30 mins and I did learn some new words like Steve on here told me I would. After I put the first one on I had to saw some cedar and tomorrow I'll put the other side on. Steve said he didn't take his wheel off either. You both have TK20, mind is a 2000 and I'm not sure the easier way is, maybe Larry will see this and let me know how he chances his.

I just replaced my belts on the B-20, After reading some earlier posts I breezed right through it.
Secret was plastic ties to hold your progress in place, 3 screwdrivers and Dawn soap.
Piece of cake no problems.

Larry

I didn't have much trouble.  Used a couple of hand clamps along with a squirt of liquid soap.

Larry did you pull pulleys off or leave them on machine?

Mr. X   Remember left hand nuts on wheel, torque to 140 ft lbs when done. Took mine off lot like changing small lawnmower tire held mine in vise also. Good luck  Tim
