Cabin Masters that is!

We got a chance to meet them briefly at the home builders show about 20 miles from here. Just a short program where we watched a master of ceremonies ask some questions of the trio, and then some questins from the audience. I was one of 6 that had a chance. I asked if he had his own sawmill. :)

Tammy took some cellphone video of me asking the question. I haven't watched it yet.  His answer was that he did not, but had thought about it, but owning a sawmill is a lot of work!  Now that was an honest answer!

I watch the show all the time
You would never get that much quality work done up here for quoted prices
Just watched the show where a carver made a Bald Eagle on the top of a tall white pine stump
Wow

That is great Jeff , their show is one of my favorite, we have now watched every one of their episodes at least once. I like the show for the fact that no screaming and yelling at each other like some of the other reality shows, plus the type of remodeling is more like a regular person might do, I wish that I could have been lucky enough to have been in your shoes.

SwampDonkey

I've watched it on occasion here on Youtube. Looks like the same folks. :)

We watch that show all the time. Are they going to start rehabbing cabins in Michigan or just there for the PR?

I don't think they will ever go somewhere else. They have found thier niche. They had over 6000 cabin owners apply to be on the show via their website last year they said. We have some poor cellphone footage that Tammy took from a distance when I asked my questions, and when I talked to them briefly in the autograph line. Is there interest in seeing that?

We DVR all episodes of Cabin Masters. We enjoy their banter and seeing Maine as well. Honestly I'm not the sort to learn much building wise but like their approach to the topic. In contrast, I greatly dislike most of the other shows of that type. Whats entertaining about taking a sledgehammer to a wall?
It's really neat the way CM showcases their mostly rural state and utilizes local resources. We've always had the question as to how much bartering around takes place away from the cameras with cabin owners? Hard for me to accept that I'd them or anyone else totally free to do whatever with my money? Then I walk up and say OMG, look what they've done, woowee. WEe spent weeks in ME when our boys were young and still enjoy the unique accents-can you say BAH HABAU ? :D

Another show we've begun to watch is Restoration Road. He's a travelling carpenter who follows projects similar to the Barnwood Builders show we had been watching. Barnwood bunch has several cast members- Johnny Jett & Sherman Thompson who are locals to my area.
Another show like that thats VG entertainment is the Stone House Revival guy who rehabs old homes, some high level work in that show.

As a watcher, I assumed he didn't as he uses lots of locally rough sawed-EWP & hemlock.

I emailed them once to ask where they sourced something they used on a job. Got an answer in a couple of hours. They salvaged it, couldn't help me find my own. But they responded!! I was impressed!

How cool! They always seem like very down to earth type people, and very hard working talented ones at that. My favorite quote from Ryan..."That wall was built whisky straight... :D...".Their crew really gets the job done, will be watching our recorded shows while the shoulder heals.

Sorry to double up on the Cabin Masters posts. I'd seen Jeff's post back when it was posted but hadn't yet seen the show. It's great to see the picture of them laughing with Jeff, as that's the way I hope they are after seeing the show. They seem like a great crew to work with or just hang out with for a beverage.
