Heya Kevin

I tried to skip over that area but I ran outa skip half way over.  ;D
Yes, it floats.
I put the drain plugs in before attempting that.
I had a couple of logs on the other side but it looks like they might stay there until next winter.
Hemlock is really nice wood to mill, I didn't want to cut that one down but I was going to lose it because of the damage to the bark.
I'll put it to good use.

those things are wicked fun, its amazin to turn 360 at full speed! dont know if id try it with the tracks. i allmost got one, but i opted for a ranger so my grandfather could get in and out easier. i just liked the turning radius and the quiet motor. the ranger loves skidin logs, but it turns like a chevy in the woods and is quite noisy.
yours looks like a party barge! nice rig, do the lights flash on remote keychain to find it if you happen to park it in the brush? ;D

Maybe I should put a glass bottom in it to view the sinkers.

Fla._Deadheader

That would be a good start :D :D :D

Do you really expect us to believe that the dog "retrieved" it from the river?  :D
Looks like a very handy unit to have.

Hey Kevin, I've been exploring the possibility of buying an argo for myself within a few years. I might be buying an old log camp that is on an island in the middle of a lake. The trail to the lake is real rough and muddy. The camp it's self will be needing some work in the future. I figure an Argo would be a real good machine for getting me and my supplies back to the camp. I might take a walk out today and snap some pictures. Any advice for someone looking to buy an Argo? Thanks

Jeff

Looking forward to those Pictures Scott!  Tell us some more about this logging camp thing. Sounds really intereating.

Scott;
Get the big water cooled Kawi engine, the alternator and winch.
If the ground is real wet and soft you'll put ruts in the trail and eventually get high centered so the tracks would be a consideration.
The Argo won't go in snow much over 8-10" without the tracks.
Get your trail widened out before you buy the machine.
The Argo will crawl out of anything on just a few branches.
The eight wheels are nice but I chose the six for the tight turning radius in the bush.
For crawling in and out of the ice get the cleats for the tracks.
Buy a rope winch and carry a couple lengths of rope regardless of what atv machine you use in the bush.
I have two sets of tires and rims for my Conquest, one set is used with the tracks and the other larger set is used without the tracks.

Jeff, sorry about the mix up but its a log cabin not a logging camp  :D. the camp is really cool. Its at least 50 years old and it sits on a hill on a little island thats covered in nice straight and tall spruce trees. theres one big pine right in front of the cabin. The trail that takes you to the lake is part of the snowmobile club's trails. It's plenty wide but not in very good shape once the snow and ice leave. In the summer it takes the better part of 2 hours to get there on an ATV.

Jeff

Well shoot. Still sounds cool though. :)

;DThat is a pretty  8) machine.  If they were available with a PTO and a three point hitch they'd be really handy ;D  I'm thinking of Fransgard or similar winch mounted on the back of one :)

One way to get to this camp is to walk down a series of frozen lakes and then cut through some woods and then walk down the lake the camp is on. My dad and I did this yesterday and it took us about an hour and 15 minutes, turned out to be a nice walk. I snapped a few pictures I hope to post them in a week or two.
