Just thought I'd post a picture of our semi-independent stump grinding guy. He works mostly for us, but also grinds stumps on his own for people. His father (who is very old and frail now) built several of these machines over the years, but this was the last one. He never finished it, so his son, who works for us, is now ironing out the bugs in it and getting it to work. This one is heavier and has a more powerful engine than all the others before, but the configuration is the same. It grinds well, but he is still working on the bugs in the propulsion system. It worked fine on the smaller, lighter ones in the past, but it looks like he may need a bigger capacity hydraulic pump. He also needs to add some ballast here and there to balance it better.
