No, not my political views. It seems like my screen on this forum, at least where I have posted, shifts a little to the right, both for what I post and what others post. I haven't really noticed it any other sites I go. It usually cuts off the last 7 or 8 letters. Is there something I have done to cause this? A way to fix it? Bear in mind I am a computer idiot.

It happens to me too, but not all the time.  Haven't figured out a pattern to it. ???

Check to see if you've increased your screen magnification to 125%. Lower right on Windows.  Decrease to 100% if you have.  I can not explain it not being apparent on other sites, though.  Just a thought.

<grin>  Darn, thought that you'd come to your senses when I saw the topic of this post....    :D

LOL.. Don't ever expect me to come to my senses. I did once. Didn't care being there.  I did notice something though. I posted on the pig raid in Michigan, it shifted to the right. I started the Marco Rubio thread. Not a bit of a problem there.

Jeff

I don't understand what you mean by shifting to the right.  ???
I can change my profile okay. No errors. If you can,t remove all the extra info in other fields and try.

Jeff

If you mean what I think you mean, it probably means you have your text size zoomed somehow, Or, you are using a low width resolution monitor. I suspect the long link that I fixed on the pig raid in Michigan topic was blowing the page format for you. I bet its not to the right now.

Jeff,

Sometimes the right edge is cut off and we have to pan to the left to see the last few letters.  It's as if the sponsor bar is taking up a little too much room.  Doesn't happen all the time and I haven't figured out a pattern for when it does.  I am using a non-widescreen monitor.  It's not a big deal.

Must be a browser issue. I can resize any window in here and the text flows inside the post window area as it should, no horizontal scroll bar coming up.

I have experianced the same issue as the others and it is only on some posts, not all of them, so I don't see it being a browser issue. (like I might know what I'm talking about. Yeh right.  :D)

I wonder why it's never happened to me? One exception, a really loooong URL as Jeff indicated. But that actually goes beyond the width of the post window and does not cause a horizontal scroll bar to show up. It gets truncated. ;D There are things in Firefox prefs that can only be accessed by going through the url bar and manually typing a phrase to access them. ;D And a lot of that is best left alone because of the different computer capabilities. Some video cards may not handle certain things in the browser, so the Firefox authors put these prefs in an obscure place so someone doesn't go mucking around. Also, the webpage behaviour is programmed by the author. Some if not all behaviours can be over ridden by prefs.

Huh?  :D. I tried to find one of the posts to take a screen shot, but can't remeber which ones they were. I did see one just tonight, (this morning for you folks). I'll try some more.

Well now, I can't find any of them now. Musta got fixed. If I do see it again I'll do a screen shot.

It is fixed now, Jeff. Checked the pig thread, it is perfect. It isn't that big of deal anyway. I just wonder some times if I have not hit a button I wasn't supposed to.

Jeff

It is both a browser and a resolution thing. Furby was having the same issue with every post, until he set his text size to normal.  You may also see the problem on a topic with photos, where the wider photos push the window out on zoomed browsers or low res monitors.

I made the decision on the last upgrade/updates to not be concerned with older browsers and monitor resolutions of less than 1024 in width. Sometimes you have to just move ahead or get left behind, and that's what we did.  :)

I don't blame you Jeff. This computer has vista operating system, the computer guy sets me up with Mozilla Firefox on all the puters, and have no clue what my resolution is. Flat screen, maybe 2 years old at most, now that I think of it, not sure.

Kansas

Well now I have a problem shifting to the left. Had a power outage last evening and now the left side is off a bunch. For instance, I don't see Baker products, I see Aker oducts on my screen on the ads. This has been happening lately, both power outages and the screen shift. After a few days, it seems to readjust the resolution. Or screen.  If I can get a couple of days without a power outage. Its not just this site. Its every site I go to.

Jeff

Sounds like your monitor. There should be buttons right on your monitor somewhere to adjust everything.

Thanks Jeff. I started pushing buttons and DanGed if I know which one worked, but it suddenly adjusted itself.

 :D :D

Kinda reminds me of some of these flat screens that are run like computers. They sometimes do weird things on there own. I've got one here that I thought was possessed or something. About the 2nd day I owned it, it did stuff on it's own and then finally calmed down and never happened again.  ;D
