I read David Esterly's book "The Lost Carving" this winter/spring and really enjoyed it. It's about recreating a carving in Henry VIII's palace, Hampton Court, lost to a fire. I've recently found he has a website. It's worth a look. Amazing what you can do with wood.

Most of that stuff is above my head, that's for sure. I can't even carve a ham without needing stiches. :D
