I have a Frankenstien skidder and am trying to figure out what type of oil to use in the planetary hub..It has axles out of a Hough, but i think they are Rockwell axles.  What kind of lube do i use in the planetary hub?   ???

Do I use the same in the differencial and how much is it going to take?

Same oil, the diff and planetaries are connected through the axle housing so the oil transfers back and forth from each.

I use 140 gear oil.You better buy a 5 gal pail if its empty.

Thanks everybody, I don't know if the differental is empty but the planetary didn't have more than a 1/4 cup in it. Thinking I better check all the fluid levels.  I probably should drain the diff and other planetary and put all the same oil in all of the axle.
