I live in eastern Pa. and was wondering with the westerly prevaling winds. Do trees have stronger roots on the west side. Last fall during
Sandy I had trees blow over from easterly winds. Or was it just strong winds from that direction. Any info. would be helpful.

Would be my guess. The weaker trees get picked out in such a storm. Often, they will have rot or decayed internals and are border-line for going down. Just takes that extra push to encourage them to go.
Not saying roots don't have a part in this. ;)

Do you have a plan to change the wind direction ??

No plan to change wind direction yet! But I have bucked most of the trees that blew down, and no rot that I have found.
I've only bucked them as I don't have a sawmill yet. It should be delivered any day. Then I will have my hands busy!
