Since I've been using my 2 blade edger in line with my sawmill I have become more aware of the added benefits of the options on the new LT70's.  I am thinking of selling my LT40 super 25hp electric and upgrading to the new LT70 wide head 30 hp electric. Of couse with a $64,000.00 price tag I want to gather all info to ensure its a good/usefull as I'm hoping. I saw full time for almost 13yrs now cutting only cypress logs.   With some of the large swell butts on cypress the wide head would sure come in handy.  The improved dragback system on the LT70 looks more automated also for accurately dragging boards back to the edger.  Larger band wheels to extend blade life. Lube mizer is standard.  30 hp electric to push through wide cuts at an accellerated pace. The only thing i have no knowledge or experience with is the DCS controls. Dont know how smooth that learning curve will be after operating the LT40 command control after all these years. Anyone have any experience with or would like to share some opinions on the LT70 wide head model would be much appreciated.

Thanks

How far are you from the Mississippi Wood-mizer store? I would call to see if they have one in stock or at least and LT70 with the DCS controls. For $65,000, even if you are 4-5hours away, I would still make the drive to test out the LT70.

There are no problems; only solutions we haven't found yet.
