I had the pleasure of being a part of the Woodmizer service route this morning. Bob got there around 8 this morning and got everything finished up around noon for a test cut. I have read many times on here to always take advantage of this service. After going through it this morning, I couldn't agree more. Bob found several things that were out of spec on the mill and several broken parts that I wouldn't have even had the knowledge to know about. His knowledge of the mill was incredible and he gave me several things to look out for in the future as well as a couple of things that need fixed that he didn't have the parts to fix. Even on those items, he walked me through exactly how he would fix them which is a much better method than the one I would have used. Again, I cannot reiterate enough how helpful this service is.

I agree it is time and money well spent. One of the first things they noticed on mine was my debarker only had 1 tooth left. I had not even noticed. Having them check and align and teach me as they did was a real confidence builder.

I had some good ones. The drum switches have never sprung back to the proper position, I had to move them back to the right position. Simple adjustment that I didn't know about, they work great now. The bottom bracket for the brake strap was broken and got replaced with one he had in his truck. The bushing where the clutch engagement lever pivots was out of place and was the cause of the drive belt slipping that I had been fighting since I had the mill. No ground from the alternator to the engine. And the list goes on. It was all stuff that he spotted right away that I had never noticed.

It is a very worthwhile service and I like to have Bob stop by about every 3 years.

At today's rate, every third year pro-rates the service to $234 plus tax per year.  Mississippi is not actually on the route anymore since we have a Service Center in the state.  I have no idea what the 2023 schedule will be.  ??

I am thinking the loop here through WV runs every other year.

I think the service loop and ProSawyer program where WM links up prospective customers are a couple of the features that really help WM stand out in the Sawmill business. It just shows their continuing support does not end when you drive off the lot with your mill.

I am wondering how you folks figure when you are due for a visit? I see Lynn schedules every 3 years, but he is a heavy duty user with some serious hours on his machine. He also knows his machine REALLY well. Do the rest of your figure it by hours, calendar years, or general condition of the mill (like when the list of little things get long)? They only do one loop through here per year and we have to schedule it by early May then wait for a date, I guess.
We don't have many hours on the mill, but I know spending a day with a service guy would give me a good leg up on keeping it in better shape and recognizing issues I don't know about. I have been into several sections of it this far fixing things, but it's what I don't know that worries me. I am just thinking ahead and trying to learn from the guys who know best.

I schedule mine when I see WM is scheduled to be in the area which is currently every other year.

I believe it is every other year for Ohio as well. Current woodmizer owners (as long as the mill is registered with Woodmizer) should get a postcard in the mail a couple of months before the service route is going to be run and all you have top do is call them up and let them know you want to be on the list. Bob called me last Thursday to let me know he would be at my place yesterday. Price was $700 plus parts. Regardless of the price and the things he did with the mill, the education was worth it. I've paid more for education and gotten less before.
