beautiful day it's been, had a surprise call and are having some guests, not really guest, my son, daughter in law and grandson,  Ollie,  wife had an appointment with her folks showing the flip house that's for sale, so I was assigned cook detail, which I like by the way, got the logs staged and smoke a going, :D for a black egg :D  beer butt chicken on the menu,, a proud one it seems,, standing very nicely,, and some nice fresh hickory, man, this stuff smells gooooooddd!

  

 
gonna do some deer camp taters, and some kind of veggies, there's a choice so not sure yet,  I hope you all have had a great week end,, and a better week ahead in store,,
only have a few chain saws I'm not suppose to use, but will at times, one dog Dolly, pretty good dog, just not sure what for yet,  working on getting the gardening back in order, and kinda thinking on maybe a small bbq bizz,  thinking about it,

I like the beer can stance. it looks like it's just sittn around taking it easy.

I'll be doing a chicken this evening but time is my enemy. I will spatchcock (cut the back bone out and flatten it out) this one because it only takes it about 1.5 hours to get to 175 internal. Because I want to make chicken soup I'll put the back bone on the BGE too and add it to the stock pot to get all the good essence out of it.

Gonna fes up, had the epic fail, went for the low and slow, trying for the color, got it, but not the temp,, Liz had to be ready for work at 3 this morning, had to do the oven rush, it was juicy enough, but a fail,  first time in quite a while,,
humble pie for dessert, plus Nathan kicked my rear in darts, again,
only have a few chain saws I'm not suppose to use, but will at times, one dog Dolly, pretty good dog, just not sure what for yet,  working on getting the gardening back in order, and kinda thinking on maybe a small bbq bizz,  thinking about it,

thats to bad :( but it happens i let a pork shoulder sour one time trying to go to slow :-[ but theres always next time and at least it you could save it in the oven :) :)
