Jim, all I can say is ouhh,  nothing like a challenge.  monsters everywhere!  I have no doubt you are the man for this one, wish I were there to really see the response,     david
only have a few chain saws I'm not suppose to use, but will at times, one dog Dolly, pretty good dog, just not sure what for yet,  working on getting the gardening back in order, and kinda thinking on maybe a small bbq bizz,  thinking about it,

I just spent 20 to 30 minutes discussing these monsters with my logger. He thinks we should just dump the two butt logs with rot in them, and get rid of them.

Then take each top log and cut it off just below the crotch, to get some straight pieces out of them.

I'll have to wait to see what the customer wants to do. I haven't heard from him yet.

I don't know if he knows that the tree service log truck driver had to cut his long logs in half in order to make them lighter so he could pick them up, or not. He may not know this yet, as when he last saw them they were full length.

I will take some pictures and post them under another thread when it happens.

This experience with crazy calls has moved building my web site up a few notches in priority.   I'll think that will really help in educating folks,

You're going to be amazed at how little attention some people pay to what you've written.

Not from my website (this time) but I got a call today from my Craig's List ad.  The guy wanted to know if I'd saw about 40 pines, 60 to 100' tall, for free for him 'cause he didn't want the wood to go to waste.  For free.  When I told him no he didn't even bother to reply; I just heard "Click!" ::)  I get just as many like that from my website.

You could almost saw those with a Skil saw, or maybe your Makita beam saw.
