I dont have a kiln. Would love to just dont have the money to spend on one right now.
Bill all it takes is heat, air flow and a way for moister to get out. It doesn't take much. Like I said I can set a rank in my garage my gas heater as my shop keeps it around 60 to 65 degrees with a fan next day it's under 15 per cent. 55gal drum heat under them breeze blowing thru them. Remember this only Ash wood my cherry I kiln dry it. My kiln cost me about couple $100.00 and a case of beer. I am going to build me one that will hold a couple cord. I had a container I had about $400000 in it got offered $12000.00 so had to let it go. I don't need the one for 2 cord but I want to see if I can do it to work more better. I can fill it up for back up. My cherry is not cheap so I can spenda little more money to prepair it. I wrap my firewood bundles with Christmas paper. Left over from last year. Remember the price of them bundles go up. When they have a fund raiser make up about two batches of wood to sell there with your ad on them.

Don't under price your bundles and do it too cheap though.  I get between $2.60-$2.70 per bundle and I am going to increase that to $3 or a little more next year.
Have your wife after Christmas*. Wrapping Christmas* pape goes on sale have pick up 50 to a 100 rolls cut pieces off to fit your wrapper remember bundled firewood is for looks not heat. If you have a regular customer. Print out a piece of paper with there name (bundled for John Doe by BB) people eat that stuff up. For people burn wood for out side fires sell them the knots and unpretty wood it

makes them think there in the wild. That where I get my good money remember
people love there pets the lady's like to out do the lady next door.

Is that to retailers or the public customers? I was thinking between 2.50-3.00.  Gas stations sell them for 4.99. But theres is are kiln dried. Mine would be to local community who have firepits but not necessarily enough property for alot of wood storage.
You say about the kiln dry the big out fits. Fill a pole barn full and 90 per cent of the time that what they call kiln dry. You can get your wood down to your average per cent every day you deliver it if its raining per cent is high if the weather is hot and dry the wood will be low. I have checked different store that advertise kiln wood and it changes with the weather. Most stores leave it out side  So there you go . Later B/B

They r USDA certified. We have those restrictions here in wisconsin about moving wood. It has do be either debarked, heated at a certin temp, i think 160 degrees for so long, or i seasoned for at least two years. Usda has to inspect u before u get the certification.

I received an order for next year and i should b about sold out for next year for bulk firewood by the cord. I need to order more pulp wood. So i need to order more wood if i'm going to try this bundling venture. I may just buy one or two cords of cut/split from one of the reputable guys around and bundle for this spring/summers farmer market.

Now when I as I say kiln dry the wood is cut fresh has not been laying in the sun for a year. Ash is that easy to dry. When you dry wood then stack it out side the percent will go back to what ever the weather out side is.

I have been told that heat treating for bugs is not the same as kiln drying in Ontario. The product has to sustain a minimum temp for a minimum time to be heat treated. They don't care about moisture content so you would not need to dump moist hot air which would cut down on heating costs and time.
Life is too short or my list is too long, not sure which. Dec 2014

R.man: ur correct. The wood needs to be heated to 145 or 160 degrees for a number of hours for usda certification to kill the bugs, i forget the exact temp and hours. It's on our dnr's website. Then many guys leave it in longer to get moisture content down to an acceptable point if they r gonna sell it right away. Two seperate issues there.

Forestry man said 180 degrees to kill the bug but certain county's where I live bug free as of now. My son-in-law just give me a hold patch of Ash trees I wont get it cut up in my life time all Ash about 24 at base and 30 to 40 ft to first branch. Lucky me
