Not quite "no" but certainly "low" snow load building.

When our Daughter moved last year we hurriedly bought a manufactured 12'X24' building for storage.  Since then I have been gradually making progress on a 16'X24' addition to that building.  I raised the portable building an additional 8" so that I could prevent having a completely flat roof on the addition.  Maintaining a 7½' low end ceiling height on the new building I have a 6" drop on the roof.  This is not as bad as it seems because the roofing is oriented lengthways so the roof pitch does not aid in the water runoff anyway.  Water will run off in front of and behind the building instead of the eve side.

16'X24' concrete slab.

2X4 studs and 2X6 rafters are all 16"OC.

The siding and roofing is all 26 gauge.

Now it was time to build the 7' front porch.  This meant that with a 24' building, plus a 7' porch, plus overhang, the roof metal sheets were 32' long.  :o  We have no FEL so it took some figuring.  The final porch and roofing will also extend to the original building covering that door also.

Using straps we curved the metal roof panels into a "U" shape, attached ropes, and laid up 12' 2X4's for a ramp.

It helps to have a strong smart Grandson.   :)

Three of the six sheets are up and screwed down.  We plan to get more done tomorrow and have the roofing completed before he leaves for his 7-7 hitch Wednesday.

I did some 27' roofing by myself. Screwed a 1x to the edge for a stop, slid/ threw a sheet up that the edge would catch it and it would not slide back off, climb ladder, screw in place, - repeat. Your grandson's idea looks safer!

Looks good Lynn.
You could build some temporary stiff legs to go under the roof if you ever encountered a big snow coming.....
But I can bet that is in your mind.  ;D

Every 8', I have a double rafter.  That would give me three locations to add temporary strong back supports under the roof if need be.

There is no indication of any sag or bounce with both of us on the roof.  The roofing itself will give additional support.

After the roof, the next challenge will be the doors.  I plan to use a "store bought" 4' door and a homemade 6' door.

Looking good there. Always good to have some secure storage building(s). :)

I've got to do some demolishing here in a couple years and put up a new shop to also store stuff. I have to get rid of a lot of other stuff. I'm downsizing and consolidating. My head hurts. :D

That's interesting adding an addition that's larger than the original structure.

Did you put something on the roofing where it overlaps?

I removed two rows of screws and slid the new roofing under the existing.

My roofing source is a local manufacturer/distributor.  Reed's Metals  Their metal roofing/siding is manufactured on site.  This is where the metal on the existing building came from so there is no issue with matching color or profile.   You can talk with the salesperson and then drive around and pick up your order.  I had to have mine delivered since I can not haul 32' anything,   ;D

Yup, the addition is larger than the existing.   :D

If it will hold Magicman and family up, then it's good to go. If he sees any snow come he can just wave his arms and send it back to MI. ;D

Yup, I toyed with "No & Low" for the thread title.  The fact is that snow loading is of no concern for the building's design.

The only probable mistake was using the "Clay" color of the original building.  The siding is proper, but I should have gotten White for the roof panels since in addition to be a parking garage for ATV's, etc, it will also be a workshop.  Snow load will never be a problem but the July/August sun will be.   smiley_sweat_drop smiley_sun
