Hi,
I've had this saw, Husqvarna 266, since 1984, it has been rock solid dependable. It has always started exactly the same, in 3 or 4 pulls.
Couple days ago it was very hard to start, but did and kept running fine for rest of day. The next day it would not start, and have not been able to get running.
It has spark, and does sputter a bit sometimes when pulling it over, it seems to be flooding severely, as plug and piston is all soaked after couple of pulls.
I'm suspecting a carb issue, I can't complain as I have not had to do anything really to this saw the whole time i've had it.
Any good saw guys left around Thunder Bay Ont?

Dry out the spark plug and cylinder and try to start it with wide open throttle.

Tip it muffler down wide open throttle pull to crank the flood out of it . first thing I would do is replace the plug .020 gap . I just added to much oil on break in of a just overhauled 372 and fouled a plug .
A bunch of chainsaws a BT6870 processer , TC 5 International track skidder and not near enough time

Did what some of you guys suggested, pulled plug, stood on end and left it for awhile, pulled it over a bit, put in new plug, and it started first pull!! Feel a little silly, but this thing just never lets me down.  Thanks everybody, this place is the best!!

If you continue to have problems it may be time for a carb kit due to age and deteriation of the diaphragm.

How old is the gas in it? I had some fuel go bad in my mower after only a few weeks (ethanol  >:( ) drained fuel put in fresh non ethanol fuel, pulled a half dozen times and been great since.
