..firewood? :o

WDH, gory cherry dismemberment photo ahead, you may want to skip this one. :D

I have a rejected cherry cant in my firewood pile from work. I tried sawing it up a few years ago, but it had been laying on the ground for years, and it had some rot, and wasn't sawing well at all, so I tossed it in the slab rack. (With a forklift.  ;) ) Fast forward to tonight. It's supposed to get down to 36, and it wasn't too warm today, so I decided I needed a little firewood to get through the night. I marked off the cant at 24" and sawed it up. I started busting it up and noticed it had some figure. Or maybe a lot of figure. Well, it's too late for lumber, but I was wondering if these billets might have some use for turning blanks? I saved a couple that were nice. Not sure what to do, it's seems a shame to burn them. Photo doesn't really do them justice.

I'd glue back together and make some WDH countertop slabs with them.  :D

Might still be able to sell pieces to wood turners & people who make wooden boxes.  Might even make nice pen blanks.  It does look pretty.  Make a mental note of what it looked like on the outside so you'll increase your chances of recognizing it next time.
