Questions reguarding installing pine flooring

do i need to seal the bottom side of the flooring or is a moisture barrier sufficient? im installing kiln dried SYP on a first floor with an unfinished basement below.

Knowing what I know now, I would seal all 4 sides and use a vapor barrier. It changes size with the season. Wider spaces between the boards in winter trap dirt and dog hair when they get smaller in the summer. I have 4" boards so the cupping isn't too bad. Tar paper should make it squeak less.

This seasonal change may be less for you since your heating season is shorter/less intense.
