Came by a old friend of mines house, seen him laying on the ground with the door of vhis pick up open! He had a tumor removed a couple of years ago and left him with limited use of his legs. This guy hauled wood for years. I seen him as i was going by with a load of wood on. Only a couple miles from home. Hurried as fast as i dared home and had my carpenter call his cell! He had managed to get up and into the house. He said i don't miss a thing!!!!  Should have stopped but i was already by when i seen him out of the corner of my eye. He had his phone on him but was to stubborn to call anyone.

It's always good to keep an eye open for others, you never know when your help is needed.

So many times I wonder if I should stop and/or call for help when I see something. We all have to keep moving down the road, especially when somebody's expecting us. I stop as often as I dare.  :-\  Glad your friend's okay!

You see your friend who has known health problems lying on the ground with his truck door still open so you drive home and call him on his cell phone?

Probably took less time than walking back to check on him. Sometimes the only alternative is not the one you would choose. Big truck stopped on busy road not real safe. Thanks for caring. ;)

Nit pick?  What you did was inexcusable in my book.  He's on the ground next to his truck.  He has known health problems.  YOU STOP AND SEE IF HE NEEDS HELP!

Sliver, have you ever drove a full load of wood down the road? I am definitely not trying to come across confrontational- sometimes you can make a situation worse by trying to help? What if he had gotten stopped 1/4 mile down the road, left his truck in a dangerous spot and ran back, and heard a big bang when a couple of cars got in an accident because of his truck? There were times I drove around people that may have needed help because I knew I would be doing more harm than good with a tractor trailer parked in the way on a busy road. If it was a back road I would take the chance, but not on a busy highway with narrow shoulders. CPR/First aid fundamental- don't make the situation worse ;)
