Had a single yard tree, 4 logs, with metal in the butt log. As the pile of nails, wire ect on the tailgate was growing the sawhead went to shaking and the saw exited out the dust shoot with enough force to brake a finger out.

The tree had one good 8' log, when the tree service took the tree down they high stumped it making the first log a much lower grade.

better that finger than your finger!  ;)

I need to replace the bolt that I installed in my sawdust chute to stop the blade from exiting!

You got me too!!   :o

Your experience reenforces the reason for the fingers and a danger involved when blades break.  Thanks for sharing.

yeah I am glad it was not my finger to ;) still have most of them and would like to keep it that way ;D

The way the mill was set up if the finger had not stopped the saw from exiting the saw would have been crossing the roadway and then where?
The finger done it's job and was still hanging on but came out when the saw was changed.
