It's really socked in here with a drizzly rain.

I was supposed to saw pine today for a pole barn but can't even set the mill up till this mess stops.

Wouldn't you know it.  I have been letting my driveway go to h__ because I was afraid it may rain on the plowed dirt and make a 2000 foot long mud bog.  I finally relented because the whoops were so big that Gael was beginning to complain about the ride in her 4 wd Suburban.  I plowed it up Wednesday and graded it Thur and Fri. (wanted it to look decent for Shinglemaker)  ;D

Yesterday I was admiring the good job I had done and last night, here came the rain.  Now I'm glad that she has 4wd or I'd have the tractor out pulling her home from the hard road.

There is a pear tree in the front yard that broke out in bloom yesterday.  It's buds have been swelling the past week but today it is pure white with flowers.  If all the flowers set fruit, I will have broken branches.

Spring is just around the corner. (the weatherman says it'll freeze Wednesday)

Grade the road = Rain
Pear blooms     = Freeze
Perhaps tonight supper will burn = ? ? ?  :D

Frustration...irritation... anger even

I've been waiting for a couple of weeks now for some good weather to come along so I can thin out an alder patch out at the gun club.  It'll probably never be good for anything but firewood, but at least if I thin it out a little, the trees will grow big enough to be decent firewood.  Anyway, rain...rain...and then friday we get a little sun at the end of the day.  Hoo boy!  I'm hoping...I'm hoping... stars out friday night, things are looking good...  Wake up saturday morning to glorious sunshine and a beautiful blue sky.  (tillaway and frank can tell you how often that happens)  Glory be, I can get some work done.  Call up my partner and wake him at 8:00 am (it's our day off after all) tell him to get ready, I'm coming over, we're gonna go loggin"!!   Get in the pickup, fire it up, pull out of the parking space and the front brake makes a horrible metal on metal grinding sound that just makes me shiver and shake in my boots.  I still don't know what's wrong, mechanic can't see it till monday.  Wasted whole glorious day fuming and sputtering about truck.  I'm going to the range and shoot something tomorrow.

Thanks!  I'll do that.

There is some good news.  My logosol timberjig showed up in the mail.  Course, I've had a devil of a time hooking it up to my saw.  Will try to get you some pictures tomorrow after shooting clay pigeons.

Boom!
