My son ran my 440 out of fluid and the reverser gear at back of top shaft seized to the shaft. Just my luck. Got the tranny pulled after much effort and pulled shaft and now looking for parts or a fix if possible. All help much appreciated,Ray.

The Syncro-Range in my 440b was in boxes when I bought it. I had John Deer rebuild the top shaft, so they should have everything. A lot of the parts are what they used in the old farm tractors.

A bunch of chainsaws.

Call and talk to Andy at Schafer Enterprises in Wolf Lake, IL he will fix you up. Very good people to do business with and very knowledgeable.

with a 440 b the trans is also the hydraulic tank so any broken pieces hopefully end up in the filter. there is a filter on the side and a screen in the bottom

When I had my 440 torn down it was cheaper to have a machinist fix/build then buy from deere. They charged me $40 for a brass washer!
