As I started to leave I couldn't help but get a pic of the cabin with smoke coming out of the chimney . I have some pics if the back porch project I will post in a few days.

Looks good. Is this a hunting/fishing cabin? Or just a place to get away from life?

its my home. 800 sq ft. Very rustic. When I get the inside finished I will do a video and post it here. I gave up a 3 story 5 bed 5 bath house for this. I love my small cabin.

Sweet  What  the rock walls for?  Look to be about 3 feet high. Did you saw the lumber yourself?

The rock is a BBQ pit that we use quite a bit. Yes I did saw all the wood to build the place...Rob

This pic is of the inside of the porch. The interior is still being finished out in all "wood on wood" so not many pics yet.I'm using all local woods and scraps off of jobs I work on. Our place is smaller than yours, but works out well.  Rob

I like the last picture what kind of wood is that ? Looks like a pretty color to make a rifle stock out of.

Very nice work Rob. Is the last pic the bedroom? I guess those are closets? How many sq feet is your place? Any idea how much you have in your place so far? I am into mine for about 15k.Everything I have left to finish I will saw up so not much more cash outlay.

The wood used for the closet doors is Coastal Live Oak (quercus agrifolia ). It has terrific figure, very hard, not the easiest wood to process...If you look it up on Google, no one has anything good to say about it at all LOL. I personally have made it my mission to tame this stuff and find it to be a very popular seller with my customers. My little cabin is smaller than yours and I have a little bit more investment. Things that help keep costs down are flooring overruns from other projects that end up in different rooms, wall paneling I call "mutt wood" that is a combination of a half dozen species run into T&G in lieu  of drywall, etc , etc.Having fun being creative and saving a little money at the same time. All the plywood sheet stock came from a Disney commercial set I bought for 10 cents on the dollar in single semi-load, stamped graded structural stuff from a big waterpipe bunking project I did.
