First woodworking project (Headboard)

This is my first woodworking project that I have ever done. My wife and I havent had a headboard for our bed since we bought it and it seemed like the perfect oppurtunity for a project. I glued two pine 2x4's together for the main posts and then made a dado cut in the center for the center pieces to slide down into. I used 1x6 select pine boards for the center pieces and then capped it off with a 2x8 which will eventually have a light installed along the front of the board.

Thanks, I was going to stain it but we liked the original color so we just polyurethaned it to make the grain really pop and it turned out great, we are putting it on the bed tommorow.

Looks good to me.  Most of the work in woodworking is just getting over the fear that it won't turn out good enough and you have done it up proud.  You have created something useful and down right purdy too, good job.  Welcome to your new home on the Internet!
