Due to very warm and wet weather in December we were not able to move wood for 3 weeks.  I called every trucker I know to help get me cleaned up when it turned cold last week.  I've had 4 trucks going fairly steady this week.  Piles are disappearing fast.  One guy got a little greedy today and got caught by the weight wagon.  He weighed over 61 MT (135 000 lbs).  He has a quad trailer so was licensed for 55.5 mt.  Still a hefty fine.

How much would a ticket for being 5.5 tons over gross permit run you up there?  Do they just worry about gross weight or do they also check individual axle weights too?  Down here they check both and sometimes they check how many pounds you have per inch of tire section width too.  My last ticket was in a dump truck.  I was under gross legal weight but over on my rear axle weight (dirt loaded too much to the rear, but when they are loading with a 988 it's not like you can get real precise  ::) ), the fine was just under $1000.00.

we had a few guys get nasty with d.o.t here and it was a buck a pound   one ticket was 11 grand  :o but couldn't of have happened to a nicer guy  :D :D

Trucking is by far my biggest problem.  I have had loads sit for 2 months due to the lack of self loaders around here.  If I don't figure this out I am done.
