Atleast Im hoping...heh...bought some pricey Cedar logs to help my son Warren fill this order for our broker...lots of oddball pieces...like the one Im about to try and cut. My mill cuts 24 feet comfortably so this 30 footer is going to be fun..

There is no knots anywhere on the outside of this half moon. LOg was pricey but getting good coin for the beam....kinda like las Vegas Im thinkin

THere is some blind knots in the center but with a little luck they will quit soon enuff so I can get my beam

I split this 38 incher   with the husky 390......Not bad for a 60 yearold coffin dodger :D

Im gonna set up the time lapse thingie on my Iphone and video the cutting of this piece.....mercifly for those with sensitive ears, there will be no audio...:D:D

Two LT70s, Nyle L200 kiln, 4 head Pinheiro planer, 30" double surface Cantek planer, Lucas dedicated slabber, Slabmizer, and enough rolling stock and chainsaws to keep it all running.

Well here is the time lapse video of the cut. Took Al and myself about 4 hours on a sunny Sunday afternoon.Unfortrunatley the Ifone battery is only good for about 3 hours when time lapsing...DUH....Anyways the beam turned out fine(Als pics)

One thing I noticed was at the first of the video, the mill was not moving at all but towards the end you can see the extension flexing. Not noticable at regular speed. I think a beam in the mill floor has broken/been compromised somehow....check it out tommorow....

That was cool.  And sure could detect the movement in the mill presenting it that way.

Great video!  I watched and was wondering if anyone would be willing to satisfy my curiosity and explain how to go about squaring up a cant longer than the mill deck?  Is there a limit to how much longer than the deck one can mill?
