I do not know all the workings of a computer / internet yet.  just wondering why my borrowed slow computer act s different at times.

Tonight I posted under the topic 'wheeeewww'' on a couple of occassions I have unsuccessfully attempted to look at this topic again.  I was watching the bar (gray)  and noticed that it was :
"Contacting Host: opi.yahoo.com".  I did not know that information on this forum was derived from a yahoo, please advise.

Is this normal Jeff or Tom ? ::)

Does the PC have something like a Yahoo toolbar or search option added in to the Browser? Thats what it sounds like, and your PC is contacting Yahoo all the time looking for adverts to show you  >:(  The Yahoo one is probably pretty harmless, some of the other adware / spyware out there is just plain nasty and a good collection on a PC will basically kill it  :o

I gotta tell ya. I'm pretty sure this has nothing to do with your  computer.

You gotta keep an eye on them Yahoos.  I'm pretty sure that there are more a couple  that hangs around here from time to time. :)  Ain't no telling what kind of information they liable to give ya. 8) 8) 8)

Again, this would have nothing to do with your problem.  Sorry.

Its got more to do with some yahoo putting in thier yahoo information in thier profile. If yahoo is down, and that yahoo has posted in that thread, the forum is searching for thier yahoo icon, which it cant find.
I can change my profile okay. No errors. If you can,t remove all the extra info in other fields and try.

Thanks for the replys,

I noticed one of the last post responders had a Yahoo site in his profile. I think you got it Jeff.  The browser I am currently using is Netscape. I don't know if it has any Yahoo ties.

Netscape is a problem. It does not load the page until everything on it has downloaded, so, if you are waiting for a silly little yahoo icon, the page doesnt load at all until it times out. I dont know if there is a setting in Netscape that would help that tic or not.
