If it is a 10 MM 044 prior to X 29 382 283  then it is somewhat sought after, jug anyway, because it has different port timing and combustion chamber. Supposedly they rev quicker and even sound different.

where is the serial number on these,so i can check if its a 10mm or not?

Stamped in the crankcase to the right of the muffler next to the bar.

will dash up to the shed and have a look!

now,here's another stupid question -
I found a local guy who stocks Tsumura bars, and he reckons that the standard Stihl 25 inch bar is actually 24 inches, so when replacing a bar and wanting to use stihl chain, should i go 24 or 25?
talk about confusing.....

Pine Ridge

I've owned two of the 10mm 044s, one i bought new and one used. Both were excellent saws.
Husqvarna 550xp , 2- 372xp and a 288xp, Chevy 4x4 winch truck

serial number is 122364409,so maybe its a later one?
