Problem Saw

Hello All thank you for accepting me to the form 8)
I have a McCullough chainsaw it seems to be one of the 2-10,10-10 or 1-10 it has a stamped number on the case 28493L is the best I can come up with. Great little saw I have owned it for over 30 years. Problem is I think it may be time for a rebuild, thing starts idles well, but bogs down with throttle. Replaced the points and condenser with the little electronic system. My question is with the compression at 60 to 90 on how may pulls you make is it just carburetor problems, coil,or low compression? And if a rebuild is in the future where would be a place to get parts, I think all I would do is replace the two seals on the case and the piston rings I don't see very minimal scoring on the piston.
Thank you in advance for the help.

Most likely the rings if it's only 60-90 PSI static on compression .

All the mentioned saws are 1.75" bore .Rings are McCulloch number 62814.You might try ChainsawR, a sponsor, fleabay or just Google it .Probably in the 18-25 dollar price range .Seals are around 8 bucks a pop .

10 series Macs are user friendly saws to work on .There's a few tricks but anyone who can turn a wrench will be able to figure it out .

Al is on the money there. Decent compreseion should be 120 plus. Really good would be 140-150. If below 100 rings for sure, but like Al said, seals and a carb kit would probably be in order. Also check condition of the fuel line and filter. All in all they are not expensive saws to source parts for. Forum sponsor Chansawr can surely get uou going in the right direction. Welcome to the Forestry Forun too!!
