band tension increase on LT40

I only get pitch glumps (globs of pitch clumped with sawdust) under the belt when I saw larch. It will knock the band off the wheel.

I prop a chains saw scrench at the right angle with the handle against the band housing, and spin the drive wheel without the tip getting caught in the drilled holes, to scrape off the sap bumps on the wheel under the belt.  Get these lumps under the drive side wheel belt mostly only when sawing pine.   Keep the scrench on a rare earth magnet disc over the blade housing.
