My unit reported low water alarm - i checked tank from above and at the sight tube - plenty of water in boiler.  I am guessing the sensor is bad - anybody ever swap one of these out?

I changed one on my e- 2300, the water was drained so that made it pretty easy. Although the fitting was plastic and was a little tricky to get out but it did come out.

Last fall when I fired my CB E-Classic 1400, I thought the low water sensor was bad so I got another from my dealer.  He told me there is no need to drain the OWB when you change it out, simply take your shop vac connect it to the fill tube on the top of the OWB and turn it on.  It won't suck any water out but will cause enough vacuum that it will lesson the amount of water loss where the sensor threads into.  I didn't have try it due the problem I experienced straightened itself out.  Roger

I heard the shop-vac trick before, that sure is a good one.
